LEND AND LEASE
SUPPLIES FOR BRITAIN LINDBERGH’S VIEWS (United press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyrlgnt; WASHINGTON, Dec. 8 A White House statement today said: “Obviously Germany did all she could to push Japan into war. It was the German hope that if the United States and Japan could be pushed into war such a conflict would put an edn to the lend-lease programme. “As usual, the wish was father to the thought behind the broadcasts and announcements emanating from Germany with relation to the war and the lend-lease programme. That such German broadcasts and announcements are continuously and completely 100 per cent inaccurate is shown by the fact that the lendlease programme is and will continue in full operation.”
Every effort, it is stated, will be made to maintain supplies to the British armies in the Middle East on the same basis as in recent months.
Mr Charles Lindbergh stated: “Now that war has come, we must meet it as united Americans regardless of our attitude in the past.”
