NAURU AND OCEAN BOMBED (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) NEW YORK, Dec. 9 A broadcast from Manila by the National Broadcasting Company states tnat Japanese aeroplanes nave bombed Nauru and Ocean Islands, which are operated by the British .Phosphate Commission. Japanese warships yesterday bombarded Midway Island and destroyed buildings and petrol dumps. Tokio radio claims that the Japanese flag is flying over Wake and Guam.
Guam, it was claimed, was taken without resistance.
Advice has been received by the New Zealand Government that Nauru and Ocean Islands were again bombed yesterday.
