Copyrlgni) (Received Dec. 9, 11 am) WASHINGTON, Dec. 8 It is officially announced that several Japanese submarines and planes were destroyed yesterday. Active resistance is continuing in the vicinity of Hawaii. The commander of the United States Asiatic Fleet, Admiral Hart announced that a small contingent of American marines at Peiping and the gunboat Wake at Shanghai had been forced to surrender. The Imperial Headquarters at Tokio claim that a Japanese submarine sank an -American aircraftcarrier off Honolulu. The Domci News Agency reports that the American naval loses so far are the battleships Oklahoma and Pennsylvania, an aircraft-carrier, two destroyers and two tankers. A few bombs were dropped on Singapore Island and the aerodrome at Kelantin. There were no casualties at the aerodrome. No bombs were dropped at the naval base. TOKIO. Dec. 8 The navy section of Imperial Headquarters claimed that two American battleships were sunk, four others damaged, and four heavy cruisers damaged in Pearl Harbour by Japanese naval bombers during yesterday’s attack.
