TeL Copyright) WASHINGTON, Dec. 7 The State Department said that all other American republics had been informed of the treacherous attacks by Japan, and that the United States had received “very heartening messages of support” from other American republics. A message from San Jose states that Costa Rica has declared war against Japan. Nicaragua has declared war against Japan, according to advice from the capital, Managua. It is reported from Buenos Aires that the acting-President, Senor Castillo, said that Argentina would maintain absolute neutrality in the Pacific crisis. A report from Montevideo, Uruguay, states that the President, General Baldomar. in a speech said it was Uruguay’s duty to enter into military collaboration with other American nations and construct air bases not only for its own use but to provide facilities for the airfleets of the whole of America. Mexico is standing behind the 1940 agreement that an atteck on one American nation will be regarded as ( ar. attack on all.
