CARPENTER’S CLAIM
COMPENSATION ACCEPTED A settlement was reached today in the case in which Percy Mclndoe, carpenter, of Hamilton (Mr T. E. Henry, Auckland) claimed £752 14s 6a general and special damages, also £Bl which had already been paid in compensation, from the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company, Limited, of Auckland (Mr J. F. Strang) as compensation for injuries received to the left thumb while operating a circular saw. Plaintiff agreed to abandon his claim for damages in common law and agreed to accept £325 as compensation under the Workers’ Compensation Act, in addition to the £Bl already paid.
