FLORAL WEALTH

BLAZE OF COLOUR SUMMER SHOW DISPLAY MANY VARIETIES OF ROSES The beauty of the garden, ablaze with the colour of summer blooms, was seen in the Bledisloe Hall today when the Hamilton Horticultural Society staged its summer show. There were large entries in all classes, and the flowers were attractively arranged, making a most effective display. As no separate rose show had been held this year, the display today consisted mainly of roses, of which a great number of varieties and classes was represented. The sweet pea was another favourite bloom, while there were strong entries of delphiniums and stocks In addition to many other varieties, including Russell lupins, pansies, carnations and aquilegias, the decorative section of bowls and posies attracted favourable attention. A charming table of roses, delphiniums, cinerarias and sweet Williams was shown by the Hamilton Beautifying Society. In the vegetable section the exhibits were also of a high standard. A feature of the show was a patriotic table in red, white and blue, with a Union Jack woven from flowers. The exhibit was entered by the National Club.
