OBITUARY
MR H. RICHDALE The death has occurred of Mr Henry Richdale, of Ngahinapouri, at the age of 74 years. Bom at Kihikihi Mr Richdale spent his younger I days farming at Te Rore. He came to Ngahinapouri 33 years ago. Mr Richdale was married in 1908 and is survived by his wife. MRS E. B. TAYLOR LIFE OF PUBLIC SERVICE (Bv Telegraph.—Press Assoclsllon) CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday The death occurred in Dunedin thia morning of Mrs Elizabeth Best TayI lor, J.P., 0.8. E., widow of Mr T. E. Taylor, a former member of Parliament and Mayor of Christchurch. Few women in New Zealand have had a more distinguished career o I public service than Mrs Taylor, to whose foresight, energy and goodwill many of the most useful organisations in the city owe much. Mrs Taylor, who was aged 73, was one of the founders of the Christchurch free kindergartens and a prominent temperance worker. She was an enthusiastic member of the PanPacific Women’s Association, and j chairman at the time of her death. Mrs Taylor also had served on the City Council. After her appointment as a justice of the peace, she was one of the first women to sit in the Children’s Court as the magistrate’s associate. Mrs Taylor is survived by four daughters and one son. MR R. S. HURRELL The death has occurred of Mr Robert Sherrick Hurreil, of 16 Station Road, Claudelands. Mr Hurreil was born in Devonshire, England, coming to New Zealand some 35 years ago on the ship Hermine. He landed at Auckland, where he lived for the next 2 years, working for the Devonport Ferry Company. About 20 years ago Mr Hurreil came to Hamilton, and he had since resided here. For some years he was engaged in a carrying business, and he was an employee of the Hamilton Borough Council for a period. He was an active member of the Labour Party, being vice-president of the Hamilton branch at the time of his death. Mr Hurreil is survived by his wife, whom he married about 30 years ago, and four children, Corporal R. T. Hurreil, N.Z.E.F., Private S. H. Hurrell, N.Z.E.F., Mr J. F. Hurreil (Hamilton) and Mrs C. W. Hinkley (Hamilton).
