STATE TO PAY
MEN FOR FORCES REMEDIAL TREATMENT Remedial treatment for a period not exceeding four weeks at Government expense is to be given men called for service by ballot either for the Territorial Force or the Expeditionary Force and who have been classed as temporarily unfit for active service in any part of the world. The section of those likely to be classed as fit after treatment will take place shortly. Such men will be entitled to the usual pay of 7s a day in respect of attendance for re-examination, as well as dependants’ allowances, travelling and subsistence allowances, in accordance with the regulations.
Spectacles will also be provided at Government expense where they are necessary to enable a man to be classified as Grade 1, but not until he enters camp. Should a man not comply with instructions incidental to treatment, Army Headquarters will immediately be furnished with a report upon the circumstances.
