TERRITORIALS CALLED NEXT OVERSEAS BALLOT No territorials in camp whose names are included in the overseas ballot next Wednesday can be discharged from the Territorial Force until their training is complete. Hitherto, territorials in camp could apply for their discharge immediately they were notified they had been drawn in the overseas ballot. Territorials now undergoing training who are drawn in the forthcoming ballot will complete the training and then be automatically transferred to what is called the area pool. If necessary, they will be medically examined, and if classed grade 1. and they have no pending appeals against overseas service, they will be discharged from the Territorial Force on baing posted to the Expeditionary Force. Those territorials who are not in camp, whether or not they have begun their training or completed it, will be governed by similar conditions. Each man drawn in the ballot will receive with his caliing-up notice a memorandum from the Air Force, inviting applications within seven days lor service in the Air Force. Such men will have their Army medical examination deferred by the Army Department. A man whose application to join the Air Force is made alter he enters the Expeditionary Force camp will not be released frem the Expeditionary Force. Volunteeis for the Navy are being sought by advertisement, and not by notices lorwarded with the callingup notices, and all such men must inform area officers that they have volunteered.
