FULTON GOLD MEDAL WELLINGTONIANS’ SUCCESSES (By Telegraph.—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday The Fulton bequests’ awards for 1940, for papers cm engineering subjects, were announced at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Institute of Engineers today. The Fulton gold medal, for the best paper by any corporation member of the institution, was awarded to Mr V. A. Murphy (Railway, Wellington) for his paper on the development of rigid frame construction in New Zealand. The silver medal, for the best paper by a graduate or student of the institution, goes to Mr W. P. Edwards (Wellington Harbour Board) for his paper on the design of reinforced concrete retaining walls.
