QUEEN CARNIVAL ACTIVITIES The various queens and their committees are busy organising functions in tl>e queen carnival being held in aid of the Catholic Church funds. An enoyable dance was held in the parish hall by the Children of Mary queen, Miss Margery Little. Music was supplied by Miss M. Brennan with extras by Miss M. Little and Mrs W. Matangi. A novelty waltz was won by Miss S. Dooley and Mr W. Dooley. A euchre tournament, run in conjunction with the dance, was won by Mrs Menzies and Mrs A. W. Speirs. Among those present wer/i:—Mesdames C. BIRTHDAY PARTY An enjoyable evening was given by Mr T. Oliver at his residence, Whatawhata Road, Ngaruawahia, recently in honour of the eighteenth birthday of his daughter, Mary. Opportunity was taken to farewell Mr Henry Oliver, who is shortly leaving for camp. The evening was spent in dancing and games, the master of ceremonies being Mr J. Viney. A novelty waltz was won by Miss Doreen Skewes and Mr J. Hannah. Muchappreciated items were given by Misses Joan Smith, Mary Oliver, Doreen Skewes, Marie Brewer, Messrs J. Hannah, S. Brewer, and J. and G. Viney. Those present were: Mesdames Viney, Luckstedt. Misses M. Oliver, J. Smith, M. Brewer, D. Skewes, M. Smith.
