Keeley. president of the Matamata Club, appealed to younger players to take an interest in the ; executive side of the game with a view to fitting themselves for controlling positions in the future. He \ called on Mrs Keeley to play the j opening ball of the season. Nearly 100 players took part in a j Yankee tournament, the winners being: Mrs B. Stone.and Miss W. Stanley, equal, 42 points; H. Le Quesne, 46 points. An exhibition match, G. Ross and Miss N. Beverley v. J. W. Howes and Miss M. Beverley, was won by the first-named pair, 6—3.
