PATRIOTIC FUND
MORRINSVILLE PLANS .SEVERAL DISTRICT QUEENS (•peclal to Times) MORRINSVILLE, Saturday Enthusiasm toward a proposed queen carnival for patriotic funds marked a public meeting held in the Municipal Chambers. The proceeds will assist in the raising of Morrinsville’s quota of between £SOOO and and £6OOO in the Waikato appeal for £45,000.
District queens are proposed as follows: Morrinsville, Tauhei-Whiti-kahu, Tahuna-Hoe-o-tainui-Manga-teparu, Te Puninga-Tatuanui-Piako, Motumaoho-Kurunui, Kereone-Kiwi-tahi. Mr W. McPherson was elected chairman of the Morrinsville committee and Mr A. J. Shepherd, secretary. Invitations are to be extended to various organisations throughout the borough to be represented at a further meeting to be held next Wednesday, when the Morrinsville queen will be elected.
The relief of London fund in Morrinsville totals £3OO.
