MARKET AT MORRINSVILLE YEARLINGS IN REQUEST Dairy cattle sold well at the Morrinsville stock sale yesterday, when special entries swelled the usual penning. Quality cows in milk were briskly traded from £l3 to £ls with a top price of £l6 15s. Keen interest was taken in the sale of a dairy herd of some 60 Jersey-cross young cows in milk, the tops realising from £l3 10s to £ls, and others from £lO 5s to £l3. Yearling Jersey heifers were in good demand, tops making from £6 4s to £6 15s. A light supply of beef sold well, usually at late rates. A few extra heavy prime cows and heifers made from £9 to £lO 12s 6d, prime from £7 11s to £8 Is, and fat and killable from £5 5s to £6. The entry of fat sheep was a small one, with the result that values were very firm. Woolly fat wethers sold at 37s 6d, and shorn sorts from 29s 6d to 31s 3d. Fat shorn ewes sold at 19s 6d, with light descriptions realising 14s 3d. A large yarding of fat pigs sold steadily, baconers again making to 91s.
