NURSES’ QUEEN
HOSPITAL SELECTION CHAIRMAN’S DAUGHTER To contest the Waikato queen carnival for patriotic funds Miss Sophie Ryburn, of the Waikato Hospital, has been selected to represent the nurses. Nominations were received from various departments at the hospital and Miss Ryburn was finally chosen from that group by the vote of the staff. She is the daughter of the late Mr J. J. Ryburn, formerly chairman of the Waikato Hospital Board. Her home is at Ngahinepouri.
Today is the final day for the nomination of queens for the carnival, but up to the time of going to press several nominations from outside districts were still awaited.
