The Hamilton Borough Council has applied to the Board of Health for a requisition in terms of Section 22 of the Health Act, 1920, to authorise it to proceed with the provision of public conveniences and rest room (£6500) and extensions to the Bor- ; ough drainage system (£10,000), the | poll for which was defeated on No- l vember 29, 1939. The Medical Officer of Health, Hamilton, recommends the Board to require that the Borough sewers be extended into the closely-settled portions of the Waikato and Waipa Counties adjacent, as these areas urgently require proper facilities for disposal of all household wastes. A Committee of Enquiry of the Board comprising the Hon. J. Alexander, M.L.C. (Chairman), Mr F. W. Mac Lean and Dr. T. R. Ritchie (representing the Director-General ol j Health) will attend at the Borough Council Chambers, Hamilton, on MONDAY and TUESDAY, October 14 and 15, 1940, to hear evidence from persons or organisations interested, the sittings to commence at 2 p.m. on MONDAY, 14th.
