TE AROHA WEDDING

GLOVER—FLOWERDAY IVORY CORDED TAFFETA A pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Te Aroha, on Saturday, August 10, when Miss Edith Molly Flowerday, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs F. V. Flowerday, of Elstow, was married to Naval Wireless Operator James Hayward Glover, son of Mr and Mrs J. Glover, of Te Aroha. Canon C. W. Turner officiated at the ceremony, and Mrs G. W. Wild presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a beautiful frock of ivory corded taffeta designed with a heart-shaped neckline and short puffed sleeves. The skirt, which fell to form a short train, had a pleated bustle effect. Her embroidered veil fell from a halo of miniature j ivory lilies and she carried a bou- [ Quet of white heather, winter roses and maidenhair fern. In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Phyllis Flowerday, sister of the bride who wore a frock of turquoise blue taffeta cut on similar lines to that of the bride. From a halo of blue flowers fell a shoulder-length veil and she wore blue mittens and carried a bouquet of lemon-shaded spring flowers. A little niece of the bridegroom, Gay Glover, was flowergirl and she wore an ankle-length frock of turquoise blue taffeta. She had a halo of blue flowers in her hair and carried a basket of lemon, toned flowers. Mr Glover, of Auckland, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. The Reception A reception was held later in the Parish Hall, Te Aroha, where the bride’s mother, assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, received the guests. Mrs Flowerday wore a navy frock, furs, and a shoulder spray of pink flowers, Mrs Glover wore a brown tailored costume with a fur and brown accessories. Her shoulder spray was of autumn-tinted flowers.

When Mr and Mrs Glover left on their honeymoon, the bride was wearing a blue angora suit with a hat to match and black accessories. Their home will be in Christchurch.
