“Hopalong Cassidy” Breaks Leg William (Hopalong Cassidy) Boyd broke two bones in his right leg when his horse crashed into a tree while making “Doomed Caravan.” This is the first accident that he befallen Boyd in 32 Hopalong productions. Deanna Durbin Sends Records to Soldiers In response to requests received from British soldiers during the last few weeks, Deanna Durbin has completed arrangements to send 500 of her phonograph recordings to Allied soldiers in Europe. Deanna contacted the British Consul in Los Angeles and made arrangements to ship large numbers of her records to Red Cross headquarters. Distribution to the various army camps will be handled by the Red Cross.
