WAGES INCREASE

POWER BOARD PROTEST (Special to Times) TE KUITI, Friday Protests against the increase of 5 per cent in award wages were made at a meeting of the Waitomo Power Board. The chairman* Mr J. N. Boddie, said the costs w&uld be added on until the primary producer had in the end to pay for it. “ I cannot see how the Government can ask us to increase production when it keeps putting almost every possible obstacle in our way,” added Mr Boddie. The need for dairy farmers, in view of this general increase, to demand an increase in the guaranteed price, was emphasised.
