FAREWELL SOCIAL
FUNCTION AT FRANKTON An enjoyable social and dance was held recently at the Railway Institute Hall, Frankton Junction, when about 100 people gathered as the guests of Mr and Mrs L. J. Gurnell, of Forest Lake Road, to farewell Privates A. S. Gurnell, W. J. C. Hamilton and C. T. Tait, of the third echelon, N.Z.E.F. The evening was spent in dancing interspersed by musical items.
Following supper, gifts to the guests-of-honour were presented by Mr C. Crabb, who wished them a safe and speedy return. Items were contributed by Mrs L. Looker, Mr Looker, Mr B. McKenzie, Mr A. Strange, Miss O. Neil and Mr R. Neil. A novelty dance was won by Pte. W. J. C. Hamilton and Mrs Hamilton.
