AT THE STUD GREAT PARRISH HERE FINE BREEDING LINES Great Parrish is standing at the stud at Farm Road, Ruakura, and trotting breeders throughout the Waikato are fortunate in having such an outstanding sire located in the district. A good performer himself, who numbers among his successes an Auckland Cup and Great Northern Derby, he has thrown some fine material, among whom is the straight-out trotter, Great Mountain, who won stylishly at Addington last week. ’ Other representatives of Great Parrish include Bonniedene, Television, Nawton Parrish, Bold Venture, Tangaroa, Eyre, Parrish Queen, Young Parry, Northern Smile and Tumble. Fc-r the last two years Great Parrish was standing in Taranaki prior to coming to the Waikato, and he left some very fine youngsters there. He is by the imported Guy Parrish, a trotter who sired many outstanding winners at both gaits, including Biddy Parrish (T) 2.8 2-5, Village Guy, Wild Guy, Bessie Parrish, Parrish Belle, Aristotle, Guy Bingen and Pearl Parrish. Guy Parrish was by Guy Axworthy (2.85, a son of Axworthy) from Margaret Parrish, whose sire, Vive Commodore, w r as a son of Bingen. Berthabelle (imp), the dam of Great Parrish, is an imported daughter of Wrack’s sire, Peter the Great. A producer of high class horses, her formidable list includes: Great Bingen, whose stake earnings of £13,320 have yet to be bettered; Peter Bingen, a winner of two New Zealand Cups; Worthy Bingen, (T), sire of the record holder Worthy Queen, 2.3 3-5; Great Nelson, Ringtrue and Baron Bingen.
