FLYING BOAT’S SCHEDULES PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATIONS (By Telegraph.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Wednesday 9 "Z have befn to Suv®to investigate alfghting areas, outside Suva and in the Fiji Islands, and it is expected that Suva will be included as a port of call for the Pan-Ameri-can flying-boats in the run between Canton Island and Noumea when the necessary facilities are made available,” said Mr Harold Gatty who returned on the Mariposa from Suva. Mr Gatty said the distance from Canton to Noumea was about 2000 miles and the hop from Canton to Suva was roughly 1200 miles leaving 800 miles from Suva to Noumea. He had had conversations with Sir Harry Luke, Governor of Fiji, and the authorities at Suva but these had not yet reached the final stage. Mr Gatty said the alighting of clippers there was a practical proposition.
