PERFORMERS’ CLUB
“GROTESQUE FOR NOVEMBER” A large number of members and friends of the Hamilton Performers’ Club enjoyed an excellent programme in Mr G. Kingston’s studio on Saturday night. Dance music was supplied by Mr W. Whitehead. The items were as follows: Vocal solos, Messrs D. Reid and W. Whitehead; the play, “Grotesque For November,” which won the National one-act playwriting competition held by the American magazine “The Stage,” and which was placed third in the recent Drama Festival in Hamilton, was excellently presented by the following players: Mrs E. R. Marsh, and Messrs M. Burdis, D. Reid, K. Eade, J. Churton, and S. Carroll. The play was produced by Mr D. Reid.
Among those present were:—Mesdames E. R. Marsh, F. W. Harrison, R. Pedrotti, J. Sullivan, Li Fahey, A. Cope, W. Whitehead. Misses Maisie Traill, Joan Pickering, Gwyneth Powell, Phil Kear, Oonagh Baker, Dorothy Pickering, Rae Melrose, Leonie Swarbrick, A. Storey, Merle Edmonds, Norma Moreland, Shirley Burton, Rosalie Seddon, Alma Burton. Audrey Seddon.
