Mr P. Mcßrearty, formerly manager of the State Theatre, was in Hamilton during the week-end. He left for Wellington last night.
Mr R. A. Dickel, M.A., headmaster of the Reef ton District High School, has been appointed an inspector of schools.
Mr F. T. Woodby, headmaster of the Nuhaka Native School for the past nine years, has been promoted to be inspector of native schools.
Mr J. Crawford, having joined the military forces, left Hamilton to-day for Taranaki, where he will spend a short holiday before going into camp.
Messrs B. Hunter (New Plymouth), J. E. Tyler, E. R. Roul (Wellington), N. C. Glen, B. Campbell, J. N. Speirs, H. H. Brinkman (Auckland) and F. J. Short (Opotiki) are at the Hamilton Hotel.
Dr. C. E. Hercus, dean of the medical faculty of the University of Otago, has been selected to deliver the Wilding Memorial lecture, which was established in memory of the late Anthony Wilding and his sister Gladys. Dr. Hercus will deliver the lecture in Christchurch on “Women and National Survival.”
