CROQUET DANCE AND CARDS The Te Rore Croquet Club recently held its annual dance in the Te Rore Hall, when there was a large attendance from surrounding districts. Cards were played in the supper room where a log fire burned cheerfully. The ballroom was decorated with red, white and blue streamers and an enjoyable time was spent dancing to music supplied by Mrs Leckie’s orchestra. Cards were won by Mr and Mr G. Bell and two novelty dances wenwon by Miss E. Forkert and partner and Miss M. Shaw and partner Mr M. Lorimer and Mr J. Finn were masters of ceremony. The proceeds of the evening were handed to the Red Cross Society. Among those present were:—Mesdames Kite, wearing white taffeta; P. Baker, red ripple ninon; E. Misses Iris Hancock (Paterangi), green figured satin; May Tibbs (Hamilton), cyclamen satin beaute; Laurna Duncan, blue spotted silk net; Eileen Forkert (Te Awamutu), black taffeta relieved with red; Joan Silvester (Paterangi), striped taffeta; Winnie Duncan, clover . taffeta; E. McNaughten (Pirongia). black crepe do chine; Nola Farrell (Kaipaki). cyclamen taffeta; Dawn Allport (Pirongia). green taffeta; Thirza Butterworth, black taffeta; Frances Coxhead, cycalmen taffeta; Hazel Hollister (Paterangi), pink floral organdi; Molly Macky (Pirongia), flame embossed taffeta; M.
