CLAIMS BY GERMANYSUCCESSFUL AIR ATTACKS MILITARY OBJECTIVES HIT (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tet. Copyright) (Received July 8, 11 a.m.) BERLIN, July 7 A German High Command communique states that a German torpedo boat sank a 6000-ton steamer near the Isle of Wight. Our Air Force continued attacks against important military objective* in South England, set Are to an 8000ton merchantman at Falmough, bombed a British naval formation in the North Sea, heavily hit two destroyers, which can be regarded as total losses, seriously damaged a 10,000-ton cruiser, and sank an armed merchantman and a guardship in the English Channel. The British submarine which we damaged on July 6, subsequently sank. The crew were rescued by a German patrolboat and a plane. British planes raided Germany last night. Slight damage was done. Enemy raiders hit Danish fishing boats and bombed a Norwegian steamer, killing several members of the crew. The enemy lost ten planes yesterday. Two German planes are missing.
