BRITAIN CONDEMNED
“VICTIMS OF ASSASSINS” ALLEGED COWARDLY ATTACK NAVAL ACTION AT ORAN (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright: (Received July 8, 10.45 a.m.) VICHY, July 7 Admiral Darlan, Commander of the Fleet, in an Order of the Day, condemns the British action at Oran as a cowardly attack. He adds: “I salute my comrades who met death for their country. They would doubtless have preferred to die in loyal combat, instead of as victims of assassins. British sailors were made to carry out the dulypremeditated assassination by Mr Winston Churchill and Sir Dudley Pound.”
