STAG TROPHY RUGBY

CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES TWO BIG GAMES TOMORROW OLD BOYS TO MEET CITY Two matches in the second round of the Stag Trophy Rugby championship will be played at Rugby Park, Hamilton, tomorrow afternoon, when City, now equal with Frankton in the lead, will meet Old Boys and Frankton will play Taupiri. The games will have a big bearing on the result of the competition. City and Old Boys will meet in the principal fixture. On last week’s form Old Boys would have no difficulty whatever in defeating City but the fifteens are likely to be different from those which took the field last week, and the match should develop into an even contest. Frankton and Taupiri are scheduled to play on the No. 2 ground, and the game should also be extremely even. Frankton will be anxious to make amends for defeat last Saturday and may have excellent prospects if the backs reach true form. Taupiri’s superiority in the forwards will not be easy to counter, however. At Raglan, Technical Old Boys and Raglan, the last two teams on the championship ladder at the moment, will moot.** All lower grade competition matches will be contested in the Hamilton series tomorrow.
