PURCHASE OF AEROPLANES DENIALS BY OFFICIAL (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) NEW YORK, Feb. 20 A high Government official said the British and French at present were without a plan for placing their 1,000,000,000 dollars’ aviation expenditure here, says the Washington correspondent of the New York Times. The official denied reports that the orders would be confined to three companies, namely, Curtiss-Wright, Martin and Douglas. He added that the Allies had secured an option on the production of the three companies. with the intention of confining their orders to them, but the Allied War Council failed to approve - this arrangement. The official denied a Report that rejection of the plan was based on objections by the United States War Department.
