GRAF SPEE WRECKAGE
SOLD TO JUNK DEALER NOT MORE THAN £IOOO (United Press Assn.— Elec. Tel. Copyright) NEW YORK, March 1 The German Legation at Montevideo has informed the Uruguayan Foreign Office that it has sold the wreckage of the Admiral Graf Spee to a local junk dealer, says the United Press. It is understood the price is 17,500 dollars. Engineers have started an examination of the ship with a view to salvage. A report broadcast by the British Broadcasting Corporation states that the Admiral Graf Spee has been sold for not more than £IOOO, the purchaser being the head of a firm of importers of foodstuffs.
