CAMBRIDGE GOLF CLUB MOST SUCCESSFUL YEAR (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE, Wednesday. There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Cambridge Golf Club last night. The report showed that the year had been one of the most active in the history of the club. The financial statement showed that the year commenced with a credit of £49 14s Id and concluded with a credit of 14s. Receipts included subscriptions £6OO 15s, green fees £57 8s 6d, profits on tournaments and ball £72 3s Id, donations £ll Is. Expenditure included wages £389 Is 4d, rental and rates £67 10s Id, donations to women’s committee £45, repairs and maintenance £76 19s, purchase of plant £9B 10s, additions to clubhouse £125, repairs to clubhouse £6 15s. Assets exceeded liabilities by £526. It was stated that the assets had increased by over £240. The secretary stated that every member had been financial during the past year and during every year he had been secretary. Mr E. Nickle returned thanks for support accorded him by all the members. He made special mention of Mr C. Haworth, who was relinquishing the position of secretary after many years of service. Election of Officers The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mr A. H. Nicoll; vice-president, Dr. H. C. Tod; club captain, Mr D. McCathie; committee, Messrs R. Ireland, D. J. Lundon, C. R. Haworth, W. J. Ward, V. C. Hollis and E. Nickle; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. H. Woolley, auditor, Mr A. N. de L. Willis. New members elected were Dr. L. Fullerton Johnson, Messrs T. Ross, N. Cummins, E. C. Budd, C. Butterworth and N. Culpan (honorary). In accepting the office of president, Mr Nicoll paid a fine tribute tc the retiring president, Mr E. Nickle The past year had been very happy, largely due to the spirit created by Mr Nickle and his wife. The harmony of the past was sure to be continued in the future. The date of the opening of the season was left to the committee.
