Mr C. E. Barnes, formerly stationmaster at Auckland, is visiting Hamilton.
Mr M. Thomas, of Hamilton, is attending the engineers’ conference in Wellington.
Mr W. E. Lewisham, of Auckland, was a visitor to Hamilton during the week-end.
Messrs A. P. Keightley (New Plymouth), H. L. Upton, J. Wilson, H. E. Simmonds (Auckland) and C. Whitley (Petone) are at the Hamilton Hotel.
i Lieutenant Commissioner J. Evan | Smith, the new commander of the j Salvation Army in the Dominion, is ! expected to reach Auckland v'ia i Canada.
The Hon. P. Fraser, Deputy-Prime Minister, visited Rotorua during the week-end. He laid the foundationstone of the new Rotorua Police Station this afternoon and afterwards returned to Wellington.
Captain H. M. Barnes, R.N.. of H.M.S. Philomel, has been appointed by approval of the Governor-Gen-eral, Viscount Galway, to the post of honorary naval aide-de-camp on His Excellency’s staff in continuation of the present appointment.
