War * Metals * Paint T JL HE use of metals in manufacturing during war times is naturally a subject {or close consideration. Where substitutes can be used without undue loss of efficiency or detrimental effect, then it is a recognised national obligation to use them. But no satisfactory substitute has been found for white lead and zinc oxide in the manufacture of house paint. Paint must protect! White lead and zinc oxide as present in Berger B.P. are the vital elements that make it efficient, long lasting and even-wearing. Omitting either, or restricting their correct scientifically determined proportions can result in chalking, cracking or peeling, entailing expensive preparation for repainting as well as subjecting property to decay and deterioration. Although paints are now being sold without a white lead or zinc oxide base, or with very little of either, the manufacturers of Berger B.P. do not intend to reduce the present high percentage of genuine white lead, which, in correct combination with zinc oxide and the best colour pigments obtainable, have founded for Berger B.P. the reputation of being the world’s finest house paint. In making this decision Berger’s are acting in the interests of national economy as well as property owners, because Berger B.P. spreads further and lasts twice as long as ordinary paint. Should you have any difficulty in obtaining genuine Berger B.P.,please get in touch with Lewis Berger ted Sons (N.Z. ) Ltd., Torrens Terrace, Wellington, who will see that your requirements are fulfilled.
