The Hon. Bernard Martin, M.L.C., has been visiting Hamilton. Mr E. W. Alison, of Auckland, is visiting Hamilton. Mr C. A. Barren, M.P., for Hamilton, arrived home this morning by the limited express from Wellington. He will return to Wellington tomorrow night. Mr Norman B. Spencer has been elected president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. Mr L. Alfred Eady is the new vice-president. Mr Stronach Paterson is to retire from the managing-directorship of A. S. Paterson and Company, Ltd., Wellington, at the expiry of his term of office on March 31. He will continue in an advisory capa</ty on the board of directors. The Rt. Rev. L. S. Kempthome, Anglican Bishop of Polynesia, arrived in Auckland yesterday and will go to Nelson to attend the General Synod of the Church of England. Messrs J. J. Barry (Inglewood), E. A. Reeve (Gisborne), W. Fossey (New Plymouth), P. Barrett (Christchurch), R. J. Jordan (Wanganui), R. Leslie (Taneatua), H. J. Benge (Featherstone), H. G. Cope (Palmerston North), F. S. Northe (Hastings), N. D. Binnie (Wellington), C. A. Allen. A. T. Hunter and C. Levdon (Auckland) are at the Hamilton Hotel.
