TE AWAMUTU TROOP Well, here we are bnck in the Scout notes, ready to start a new Scouting year. GEORGE'S TROOR Last Monday we began our year's activities under the charge of our two A.S.M.’s, After Tall-In and a game, we bad an hair-hour in our patrol cornera. Then we began our rally practice In earnest, with signal tower training Judging by the results we’re going to be hard to beat —for last place After a march round the block we were dlsmlased for tbe evening. •o HU* HAMUTANA ROVER CREW Last week we had our usual weekly meeting. Time was taken up with home nursing. We also decided to bold a weekend camp, but due to the wet weather last Saturday, this had. unfortunately, to be postponed. We had a record attendance at this week's meeting on Wednesday night, and at present we are at our greatest strength and still seem to be growing. Flrst-ald and rsuseltatlon methods were demonstrated during the evening Supper was the next item and after a general discussion which lasted a cf-ide cable time—our discussions generally do—we wer* dlsmlased. •orlb* CLAUDELANDS TROOR Our year’s parades commenced on Monday. Must of the evening was given over to rally practice under our two Rovers. After picking the teartu for bridge building. semaphore signalling and the signal tower, we went outside for an hour’s practice. Then followed a game, after which we had more rally work and dismissed the parade. SOUTHERN CROSS TROOP The troop started Its new year parades with a muster of 15. Including one new recruit. The rally programme was dls cussed and tentative teams ananged. Staves were sorted out and we began to aecustom ourselves to these Implements of trade. The yarn for the evening, relating to Mr Southon’s spy-rapturing epic, and the badge ranks of *cout and Army officers. The parade concluded with prayers and flag-down. CUE NOTES TE AWAMUTU PACK On Friday night we had our first meeting. C.M.'s Rlrkit and Onodall. hot* turning up without th*»lr uniforms, having not become quite used to cub night. Little work was done, owing to our having no hall. We had a few games and finished with a sing song. *ext week we »tart rally work.
