RUSSIAN ADVANCE FIGHTING IN FINLAND HELSINKI, Feb. Ifc The Finns counter-attacked and won back some posts, but their line sagged elsewhere. The Russian advance, from the Helsinki viewpoint, is rot decisive but is disheartening. A communique states that fierce pressure occurred near the Vuok River, also at Taibefa. We repulsed enemy attacks on the island and on the shore north-east of Lake Ladoga, capturing some positions. The enemy losses were heavy. The destruction of isolated enemy detachments continues. At Kuhmo our fighter planes engaged in several successful air battles. We bombed and set fire to encampments, railways and other positions behind the enemy lines. The enemy bombed La Peenranta and Viipuri. We shot down eight enemy planer. BULGARIAN CABINET EFFECT OF CHANGE LONDON, Feb. 16 The Times says the change in the Bulgarian Cabinet Is likely to improve relations with Yugoslavia and Rumania and bring Bulgaria more actively into the Italian sphere of Influence. Hungarian circles are not enthusiastic. The German and Russian propagandists are again bringing pressure on Rumania, asserting that German troops are massing in Czechoslovakia and Russian forces on the Rumanian border.
