DRIVER ACQUITTED

DEATHS OF TWIN SISTERS (Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Friday A jury after retiring for two and a-half hours returned a verdict of not guilty in the Supreme Court today in the case of Randolph Peter Sharp, motor mechanic, aged 20, who was charged with negligently driving a motor-car on the Mount Wellington Highway, Ellerslie, thereby causing the death of twin sisters, Doreen and Bernice Lumley. The sisters were passengers in the car, which was involved in a collision with a truck. The Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, was on the Bench. Mr V. R. Meredith appeared for the Crown, and Mr Hubble for accused.
