NOBODY HUNGRY
NAZIS INVINCIBLE CONFIDENCE OF GOERING CONTRAST WITH BRITAIN (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Feb. 16, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 15 Field Marshal Goering, broadcasting to farm workers, said: “Germany is invincible, militarily and economically. She has free communications south-east and north, despite the blockade, and has ample reserves of raw materials and ample coal. Though the transport difficulties at present are unsurmountable her wheat reserve is 7,000.000 tons, whereas hundreds of thousands of tons of British wheat has been sunk. “Capitalism has destroyed British agriculture. Germany’s crops for two years were records. She is producing more butter, meat and
fat, but meat consumption should not be increased. We will not capitulate owing to less butter, though the farms lack men and horses. “The price of butter is increasing by 2£d per lb. and milk id a pint, but nobody is yet hungry. The fat ration will never be cut.”
