1500 LIVES SAVED
BRITISH LIFEBOAT SERVICE TRIBUTE BY ROYAL NAVY (United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Feb. 15 Since the outbreak of the war the British lifeboat service has saved 1500 lives. The courage and endurance of the lifeboatmen, never more tested, is the subject of a tribute paid by the Royal Navy through the Lords of the Admiralty. A statement says the Navy is deeply impressed by the services of the national lifeboatmen, given in bad weather, high seas and bitter cold and in the face of the enemy menace. In courageously maintaining their great traditions the lifeboatmen have never spared themselves.
