BROTHERS GUILTY
BOOKMAKING ON COURSE (Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Thursday A jury in the Supreme Court today found both Ernest Frederick McNeil, waterside worker, aged 26, and Frederick Angus McNeil, blacksmith’s labourer, aged 24, guilty of carrying on the business or occupation of bookmaking at Ellerslie racecourse on December 28. The Chief Justice. Sir Michael Myers, was on the Bench. Mr V. R. Meredith appeared for the Crown, and Mr Sullivan for the accused, who had pleaded not guilty. The two accused, who are brothers, were remanded until next Tuesday for sentence.
