PLANB IN TC AVtOHA (Special to Time*) TE AROfIA, Thursday A mating convened by the Mayor. Mr R. Coulter, for the purpose of assisting the Y.M.C.A. and tin- Salvation Army to collect rund> for the £IOO,OOO appeal for the National Patriotic Fund, was held last night. The May i and Major Eichler. representing the salvation Army, explained the object of Iho appeal. The Y.M.C.A. was not represented In Te Aroha and the local branch of the Salvation Army could not be a-ked to shoulder the whole of the canvassing. It was decided to divide the town into six district-, the following organisation- each to undertake one district Salvation Army. Women’- Institute. Returned -..idler-’ Association. Methodist Church. Presbyterian Church and friendly societies. y committee was set up to wait «.n the link . County Council with a view to covering the county districts.
