CONCERN IN ITALY

PRESENCE OF ANZAC TROOPS

ALLIED ARMY IN NEAR EAST LACK OF BALANCE IN THE MEDITERRANEAN (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Feb. 15, 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, February 14 The Rome correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain states that the Italians are becoming increasingly concerned over the Allied Army in the Near East and the possible significance of the arrival of the Anzacs. La Tribuna says: ‘'The so-called defensive aims of General Weygand’s army are not convincing. It is difficult to see how the lack of balance in the Mediterranean thus caused is reconcilable with the agreements with Italy.” La Tribuna accuses Britain of desiring to complicate matters, and suggests that one project concerns the advisability of seizing Russian oil supplies.
