SOCIAL NOTES

Mrs J. Morriss, Hautapu, is visiting Wellington. Miss I. Leak, Hamilton, is a visitor to Auckland. Mrs P. Hunter and Miss Dorothy Hunter, Hamilton, have left on a trip to Wellington to visit the Exhibition. Mrs S. J. Rawlinsoh and Miss Mary Rawlinson, Ohaupo. have returned from a tour of the North. Mrs F. F. Lawrence, Hamilton, has returned from a holiday spent in the North. Mrs C. B. Couling, Hamilton, has left on a short visit to her mother in Gisborne. Miss Hazel Williamson has arrived from Christchurch to take up her duties in Hamilton as secretary to the Y.W.C.A. Mrs A. J. Somervell, Wellington, is spending some weeks with her mother, Mrs Stephen Wilson and will return home at the end of the month. Mrs G. Brambley, of Mount Eden. Auckland, has returned home after being the guest of Mrs S. Colton for the Colton-Bowen wedding. Mrs H. Norman-Smith has returned to Hamilton after being the guest of Mrs J. M. Bowen, Rata Hill, Te Akau, for the Colton-Bowen wedding. Mrs D. W. Dunn and her daughter, Miss L. Dunn, have returned to Wanganui, after spending a holiday in the Waikato district. Miss Agnes Moncrieff, of the New Zealand Y.W.C.A., will return during the year on furlough after her four years’ term in China. She has been carrying out her work under very difficult circumstances as the Shanghai Y.W.C.A. was in the Sino-Japan-ese war zone and was converted into a refuge for Chinese women and children and soldiers, the usual programme being abandoned for war relief work.

OHAUPO Mrs I. K. Anderson has returned from a holiday spent at Devonport. Mrs C. K. Edwards has returned from Wellington. Mrs L. D. Kemp is on holiday at Raglan.

Mrs G. Bainbridge has returned from a holiday at Raglan. Mrs F. Sittauer is on holiday at Auckland. Mrs C. Bennett has returned from a holiday at Raglan. Miss J. Sage has returned from Christchurch and a visit to the Wellington Exhibition. Mrs Paxton has returned from a holiday at Wellington.

Mrs T. Jackson has returned from Raglan.
