BIG SOVIET LOSSES 3000 MEN A DAY
ON KARELIAN ISTHMUS (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrlg-ht) (Received Feb. 14, 11.55 a.m.) COPENHAGEN, Feb. 13 The new big Russian offensive on the Salta front has failed. The Russians landed hundreds of parachute troops armed with pistols and skis. STOCKHOLM, Feb. 12 It is authoritatively estimated that the Russians on the Karelian Isthmus are losing three thousand men a day in killed, wounded or taken prisoners. The Russian casualties since the offensive began are estimated at over 33,000. Snow is still falling in the Baltic.
