POWER SALES SOAR
DEMAND IN WAIKATO An increase of £6678 10s 8d in electricity sales for the last nine months of last year, as compared with the revenue for the same period of 1938, which has been experienced by the Central Waikato Electric Power Board, reflects the development in the use of electricity in the district. From April 1 to December 31, 1939, the revenue from electricity sales was £70,698, 3s 9d, as compared with £64,019 13s Id for the corresponding period of 1938. There are 6948 consumers associated with the board, the figure being an increase of 24 in the last month. Several ranges, water heaters and other electrical appliances have been installed during the month.
