MORRINSVILLE WINS

REID CUP SHOOT AUCKLAND COMPETITION HAMILTON EQUAL SECOND (Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Monday A team from Morrinsville won the Auckland Gun Club’s contest for the Reid Cup at the week-end. Hamilton and Auckland teams tied for second place. The three teams were within a point of one another practically throughout the match. At the commencement of the last round Auckland had obtained a lead of three, but it lost these, and Morrinsville won with a score of 90, Auckland and Hamilton tying for second place with 89. Next in order were Auckland B, 86; Matamata, 84; Pukekohe, 71. The 15-bird trophy match produced a very good contest, five of the competitors shooting a possible. G. Brown (Matamata) eventually won the trophy on the 14th bird. Details are as follows: Eye-Opener (20 shooters). —J. Sinton (Auckland), 12yds, G. Brown (Matamata), 12yds, T. Henry (Hamilton), 14yds, R. Smith (Auckland), 12yds, C. Hodge (Auckland), 16yds, shot the possible and divided the stake. Second 10-bird Sweepstake (26 shooters). —C. Bovill (Pukekohe), 12 yds, R. H. Bartley (Auckland), 14yds, C. Hodge (Auckland), 16yds, shot the possible and divided the stake. 20-Bird Sweepstake (14 shooters). —C.
