THREE YEARS’ PROBATION
ATTEMPTED INDECENT ASSAULT Having pleaded guilty in the lower Court to two charges of attempted indecent assault, Albert Haydn Shirley, aged 25, labourer, of Rotorua, was admitted to probation for three years when he appeared before Mr Justice Blair in the Supreme ; Court, Hamilton, to-day for sentence. ; A special condition was that during i the period of probation Shirley re- ! side in such place as nominated by i the Salvation Army in Auckland. When admitting the man to probal tion, His Honour said that the Salvation Army was willing to look i after him and would give him a chance to rehabilitate himself. His Honour referred to Shirley’s fine record in the Navy, and hoped that he would respond to the chance that was being given him.
