Mrs E. Miller, Wellington, is visiting Hamilton. * • • • Mrs C. G. Speight, Hamilton, has returned from a visit to Auckland.

Mrs M. C. Stranger and Miss Mary Stranger, Hamilton, have returned from a visit to Waimiha. Mrs A. Buckland, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs J. S. Anchor, has returned to Invercargill. Mrs R. English, Hamilton, is spending a holiday at Devonport, Auckland.

Mrs R. McCullough and Mrs G. McCullough, Papatoetoe, are visiting Hamilton for the South Auckland croquet championships.

Miss Shirley Anne Richards, leading lady of the "Charley’s Aunt” company, is visiting her aunt at Te Aroha.

Mrs McLeod and Mrs Haynes, Te Kuiti, and Mrs Borrie, Te Aroha, are competitors in the South Auckland croquet championships held at Hamilton.

Mrs Dukes, Mrs Allsopp, Mrs Innes Allan, Mrs Henrys, Mrs Hilton, and Mrs Hardley are visitors to Hamilton for the South Auckland croquet championships. Mesdames F. Sharpe, T. V. Kay (Dunedin), H. E. Morton (Wellington), W. James (Auckland) and Misses M. and L. Oliver were recent guests at the Hamilton Hotel. The Rev. Mother Mary Gonzaga, of the Mater Misencordiae Hospital, was invested by His Excellency the Gov-ernor-General, Viscount Galway, with the insignia of an officer of the civil division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (0.8. E.) at Government House on Saturday morning.

TE AWAMUTU

Mrs Clough Blundell is spending a holiday in Rotorua. Mrs J. B. W. Roberton is visiting Christchurch. Mrs Ernest Bryant has returned from a three weeks’ holiday spent at Cowes Bay, Waiheke Island. Mrs Walter Hopping, Korakonui, has left for Auckland, where she will in future reside. Miss L. Telford has been appointed to the staff of the primary school, Te Awamutu. Miss Betty Nicholas has left for Auckland where she intends attending the Auckland Business College for a period of six months.
