In comparison with other years there were fewer outside buyers, and prices In many Instances were below those ruling at other fair- by 2s to -ales were made of good four-: ear ewes from is- to 25s and live-year from ms to 235. but a number of good lines failed to find purchaser at those prices. Two-tooth ewes were in better demand and a clearance was made m their section.

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co.. Ltd., report: At our fortnightly stock sale at Walliou on Thursday a medium jardlng or sheep came forward and sold at late rates. Fat sheep were in keen demand. Cattle: A full yarding of fat and boner cows, and a heavy entry of potter bulls. Values for fat cows remained firm, while boner cattle showed a slight rise on recent rates, a small offering of weaner calves, mostly of medium to poor quality, was not sought, and several* pens failed to reach vendors’ reserve. Pig-: A full yarding or rat pigs. Bidding for baconers was steady and prices remained firm at late rates, but porkers were slightly easier of sale. The penning of store pigs was small and the entry created brisk bidding. We quote. Hamilton, report as follow? on their Morrinsvllle stock sale held on Friday;—A small entry of cattle and a full yarding of -sheep came forward, also a good entry or pigs. The market for cattle was good and late rates were well maintained. Sheep were sold before a large bench or buyers and competition right throughout was keen, especially on voting breeding ewes and store lambs. Aged breeding ewe? sometimes were dull of sale.
