MORRINSVILLE NEWS

BOROUGH COUNCIL (Special to Times) MORRINSVILLE, Saturday At a recent meeting of the Morrlnsvllle Borough Council permission was granted the National Patriotic Fund Board to hold street collections in the borough on March 16 and the last week in April. A letter was received rrom the New Zealand DeTence League Inviting the council to express an opinion on the question of conscription for active service. The council decided to support the Defence League. The town clerk stated that collectable rates amounted to £9771, or which £8334 had been received. Of the £405 arrears collectable, £255 had been received. The penalty for unpaid rates would be enforced on February 15, the sum outstanding being the smallest for many years. The consulting engineer, Mr W. A.
